Lone Tree Creek Letter of Map Revision (LOMR)

Preliminary floodplain maps have been released by FEMA for the floodplain map boundaries associated with Lone Tree Creek from John Stockbauer Drive to Houston Highway.

The Lone Tree Creek Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) is part of the Lone Tree Creek Channel Improvement and Detention Facility Project funded through 2000 G.O. Bonds and completed in 2009.  This project consisted of improving the drainage channel from John Stockbauer Drive to Airline Road as well as the construction of the detention facility located between Airline Road and Houston Highway.  The project was estimated to remove approximately 400 properties from the floodplain.

Subsequent to the project completion, the City and its consultant submitted an application to revise the floodplain maps.  FEMA has now released preliminary maps showing the new floodplain limits. The preliminary maps are available for a 90-day public comment period, FEMA’s Appeal and Protest Period.

The map revision will have a positive impact on most of the residential properties along Lone Tree Creek reducing the width of the floodplain, floodway and lowering the base flood elevation.

The following links provide a detailed explanation of the map revision as well as the Appeals and Protest Form:
