Responsible for the maintenance and operation of the City’s traffic control system including signals, signs, and markings. Determines needs and formulates solutions for traffic control operations including equipment installations, traffic signal timing and signal system operations. Knowledge of traffic regulations. Knowledge of Texas MUTCD requirements. Ability to utilize computer applications to develop and implement traffic control strategies. Ability to develop and implement traffic control improvements. Ability to read and understand materials including memorandums, plats, plans, specifications, maps, deeds, field notes and legal descriptions. Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing. Skill in math. Technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical analyzing and repairing. Ability to write documentation of work, reports, work orders, material requisitions, and maintenance records on equipment. Ability to get along appropriately with co-workers and the public. High school diploma or equivalent required plus Associates Degree from an accredited college or university and four years of related experience or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and two years of related experience. Provides assistance with planning & developing recreation activities, assists with budget, assists in the hiring, training, supervision & evaluation of subordinate personnel. Assists in the operation of the softball complex including leagues, tournaments & concession stand. Collaborates with volunteers, youth & adult service organizations. Performs all other job-related duties as assigned or as become apparent. High school diploma or GED with one to three years experience in developing and implementing recreation programs. Bachelor’s degree in Recreation or Recreation Administration preferred. Will consider an equivalent combination of education and experience. One to three years supervisory experience. Water Safety Instructor, Certified Lifeguard Instructor and Certified Pool Operator (CPO) preferred but not required. Performs legal assistant and secretarial duties for the city’s legal department. College degree preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience as a legal secretary, legal assistant, or paralegal preferred. Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute. Valid Texas driver’s license with driving record that meets city guidelines.

Provides general clerical work for the Municipal Court and works with the public in providing information and guidance on Municipal Court proceedings. Collects payments and fines, including accepting bonds in lieu of fines on traffic, parking and other class “C” misdemeanor violations. High school diploma or equivalent required. Typing speed of 35 wpm. Spelling score of 60% or better correct. Typing/spelling test is required and should be taken at the Golden Crescent Workforce Center. Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred. Telecommunications Operator - Police Department

Under general direction, learns, interprets, and enforces City of Victoria Ordinances and state statues. Conducts inspections of properties in City to determine if code violations exist; handles written and oral communications relative to code violations; implements abatement procedures.

Water Meter Technician - Utilities/Water Department
