Kayak Clinic and Trip on Guadalupe Paddling Trail August 28
(VICTORIA, TX) The Victoria Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a two-part Kayak Clinic. Enjoy a day of learning the basics of paddling a kayak and a guided trip down the Guadalupe River Saturday, August 28.
The first part of the clinic will take place at the Gary T. Moses Municipal Pool at 211 N. Ben Wilson. This morning class is a free mini-course on the basics of water and boat safety, paddling strokes and how to plan a river trip. Those registering for the morning class will have an opportunity to win a free kayak donated by Academy Sports and Outdoors, the drawing takes place at noon. A limited number of kayaks will be available, reservations are required.
Participants must complete the morning class to participate in a guided four-mile trip down the Guadalupe Paddling Trail in Riverside Park that afternoon. There is a $10 per person fee, for the guided trip, which includes a meal. Children 12 years and under must be accompanied by an adult.
