Major Reconstruction of Laurent Street Between

Airline and Crestwood Drive to Begin Monday

(VICTORIA, TEXAS) The City will reduce Laurent Street to one lane, northbound, between Airline Road and Crestwood Drive beginning Monday, January 18 as phase II of street and utility reconstruction begins.

This traffic restriction will remain in effect for approximately four months, weather permitting. Access to retailers, restaurants, schools, churches and other entities will be available. Traffic delays are expected, through-traffic should use an alternate route if possible.

This is the beginning of the major reconstruction of Laurent Street from Airline Road to Sam Houston Drive which includes new storm sewer utility lines, water and sanitary sewer lines, street lights and a complete repaving of Laurent Street. A traffic signal will also be replaced at Crestwood Drive and Laurent Street.

This construction is part of the $6,171,007.43 Laurent Street Reconstruction Project – Phase II (Airline Road to Sam Houston Drive). The contractor is Total Site, Inc. from Houston, Texas. This project is planned for a 14-month construction period.
