Section of Laurent Street to Temporarily

Close for Utility Line Installation

(VICTORIA, TEXAS) The City will close Laurent Street between Rio Grande Street (Business 59) and Nueces Street for two nights, from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., beginning on Tuesday, September 2, 2008. New underground utility lines will be installed.  All businesses and residences on Laurent Street will remain accessible via alternate routes.

This traffic restriction will remain in effect for approximately two nights, weather permitting. Drivers can expect major delays in the work zone and should use alternate routes to get around the work zone if possible.

This construction is part of the $9,885,800 Laurent Street Reconstruction Project – Ph I (Bus 59 to Airline Road). The contractor performing the work is Triple B Services, Inc. from Huffman, Texas.  This project will take about 18 months to complete.

For more information, contact the Public Works Department at 485-3340.
